BLACK OR WHITE WE ALL READ THE SAME AND Just Want a good read!
This novel is compelling and something that every human should think
about. When our happiness is threatened one will stop at nothing to
fight and preserved what is ours to keep. As Dr. Reuben Stacey did in
his case. Read an excerpt and find out why the good doctor wanted to
end his life once he thought he had lost his wife forever. But had he?
He had restored to some desperate acts for desperate measures only to
come back and force him to tell all. To reveal his fate that he so
desperately tried to alter! There has been over 1000 people that has
read this novel. People from all walks of life. People of prestigious
professions and people who are great lovers of a good book. But I'm
going to take a leap forward as I write this blog. ADM has been out for
five years. It's still being read today. It is being checked out of
libraries still today. When I decided to write this story, which in
fact was inspired by my husband because of the love he has for me and I
him, I wanted to write the unique and truly unexpected. Here's the
clincher when you look at this cover you see a title and name, but when
you turn the book over and see the author, you will see a black women
who has written and surrounded her story with white characters! Yes, my
debut novel was written not about my race as one would call it, but
another race. One factor is it really doesn't make any different
because of the human factor. WE ALL NEED LOVE! Even the animals! At a
panel discussion, I was asked by the mediator what did I enjoy the most
about being an "African-American writer" my response was, "I don't consider myself as an African-American
writer. I am a writer plain and simple. I've away been an advocate of
books and enjoyed reading from a little girl. My favorite part of the
summer was going to the library and check out as many books as my arms
could carry. As an adult the cover and title is what caught my
attention when looking for a really good read. Lots of times I didn't
even think to see who or what they author looked liked until I
purchased the book and was ready to read. I have this book on
amazon.com and others sites as well. I've tried to strike up
discussions with other authors and readers for a whole year, but know
one will give me the time of the day. I believe when they see my
profile and learn that I am black they figure, what could she write in
a story that I could relate to. She has written something for black
people. And that's the further-est from the truth. The cover tells it
all but people don't pay attention. I have ran my blog for over three
years and over 282 people have viewed it, but not one wanted to buy the
story. Or even want to discuss the book with me. My husband published
my book buy starting our own publishing company in order to retain 100%
rights! Something other publishing houses would not give up. . .
publishing rights. But all isn't bad I have had major bookstores
purchase A Desperate Man four libraries in the US including Ohio where
I am from. And I know I am not a well known author but the book is
very popular with those who have read the story. Take a few minutes and
read reviews from my website http://adsperateman.weebly.com; tomorrow I blog about my experiences with book signing. I want to change the category of African-American to simply writer or author. One Day
