FIVE STARS AND MOVIE BOUND!!!!!!

Great expectations for A DESPERATE MAN!! And still going strong!! AS of today April 21, 2013, it has checked out at the local libraries six years in a row. There is not one year that has passed where ADM did not get checked out, since it's release date: May 18, 2007. I also learned that, in five locations the book did not make it back to the shelves... OOPS! Someone got fined! But it feels good to know that this story is just simply well liked. Everyone that has read ADM, was so taken by the unusual plot, that it floored them! This enticing fiction romance hit home to the readers, because when it comes to having true love... We ALL WANT IT! NEED IT! GOT TO HAVE IT! A Desperate Man makes a woman dream of such love. Which, I am proud and happy to say I have. My husband inspired me to write this loving story. He was on my mind during the 361 page ordeal. If you truly love your husband/wife, or mate, you will do anything for them. Well, in this story, there was no holding back. Dr. Reuben and Norrell Stacey loved each other that much. Yet, Reuben was madly in love, out of desperation he did the unthinkable, the FBI was determined to expose Reuben. However, when agent Raymond Snow realized how much Reuben truly loved his wife, he became Reuben's ally. This book has been rated five stars on, amazon, barnes & noble, and ten stars on open-book review. I will share this link so you can read the reviews, http://www.openbookreview.com/ However, all are waiting on the sequel, which will be released in the near future.  Yet, more good news! Now there is MOVIE talk and ADM is being passed through many hands. One screenplay writer stated, "It is a great love story. ADM will make a beautiful movie. It is different!" Also, I would like to invite you to visit my website http://adesperateman.weebly.com/ There you can learn more about the story and listen to the narrative excerpts along with audio music, and videos, to get a better understanding about, A Desperate Man. I wrote this story in a way that no one expected. Thousands have read this book and only one reader figured out the reason. It blew him away that I came up with this plot. To this day everything he said to me is the truth. And it could happen to anyone, if there is a man out there, that is as bold as Dr. Reuben Stacey. So I challenge anyone reading this blog to read: A Desperate Man! Tell me why I wrote this story in the manner that is least expected. AND DON'T JUDGE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER!!!!

THANK YOU AND HAPPY READING!!!!!

BLACK OR WHITE WE ALL READ THE SAME AND Just Want a good read!

This novel is compelling and something that every human should think about. When our happiness is threatened one will stop at nothing to fight and preserved what is ours to keep. As  Dr. Reuben Stacey did in his case. Read an excerpt and find out why the good doctor wanted to end his life once he thought he had lost his wife forever. But had he? He had restored to some desperate acts for desperate measures only to come back and force him to tell all. To reveal his fate that he so desperately tried to alter!  There has been over 1000 people that has read this novel. People from all walks of life. People of prestigious professions and people who are great lovers of a good book. But I'm going to take a leap forward as I write this blog. ADM has been out for five years. It's still being read today. It is being checked out of libraries still today. When I decided to write this story, which in fact was inspired by my husband because of the love he has for me and I him, I wanted to write the unique and truly unexpected. Here's the clincher when you look at this cover you see a title and name, but when you turn the book over and see the author, you will see a black women who has written and surrounded her story with white characters! Yes, my debut novel was  written not about my race as one would call it, but another race. One factor is it really doesn't make any different because of the human factor. WE ALL NEED LOVE! Even the animals! At a panel discussion, I was asked by the mediator what did I enjoy the most about being an "African-American writer" my response was, "I don't consider myself as an African-American writer. I am a writer plain and simple. I've away been an advocate of books and enjoyed reading from a little girl. My favorite part of the summer was going to the library and check out as many books as my arms could carry. As an adult the cover and title is what caught my attention when looking for a really good read. Lots of times I didn't even think to see who or what they author looked liked until I purchased the book and was ready to read. I have this book on amazon.com and others sites as well. I've tried to strike up discussions with other authors and readers for a whole year, but know one will give me the time of the day. I believe when they see my profile and learn that I am black they figure, what could she write in a story that I could relate to. She has written something for black people. And that's the further-est from the truth.  The cover tells it all but people don't pay attention. I have ran my blog for over three years and over 282 people have viewed it, but not one wanted to buy the story. Or even want to discuss the book with me. My husband published my book buy starting our own publishing company in order to retain 100% rights! Something other publishing houses would not give up. . .  publishing rights. But all isn't bad I have had major bookstores purchase A Desperate Man four libraries in the US including Ohio where I am from.  And I know I am not a well known author but the book is very popular with those who have read the story. Take a few minutes and read reviews from my website http://adsperateman.weebly.com; tomorrow I blog about my experiences with book signing. I want to change the category of African-American to simply writer or author. One Day

After Five Years ADM Still Going Strong! Rated Five Stars!

PEOPLE ARE STILL READING THIS FANTASTIC BOOK!     READ AN EXCERPT NOW!

With no one to hear his cries, Reuben felt confused, guilty, and overwhelmed with despair. The negativity that plagued him emerged from deep within his soul. He felt more isolated than ever now that the clone had given up. Everything was crashing down on him. Reuben concluded that Finch had disappeared or dropped off of the planet altogether. Everything that was negative rambled through Reuben's mind. Maybe he didn't love the clone like he'd thought he would. Maybe she felt it. But maybes didn't bring any consolation to his heart. With no way out it felt like the end of the road as he sat in the dark alone. The love of his life is gone, and it still hurt Reuben. After everything he'd gone through, the lying, deceit, and the secret cloning of his deceased wife, to have it backfire made his life seem futile.
Absorbed in dismay, Reuben cried out for Norrell, and he cried for the clone, but neither could hear the echoes of his cries. Their faces flashed before him in the surrounding darkness. "Oh Norrie, where are you?" he cried out. He wondered if she was in heaven. Or had he sent her into purgatory? He have cheated her out of going to heaven by talking her into going along with his devious deed. He blamed himself for not telling the family that she had cancer. As it were, she had had a short time to live, and he cheated his children of spending the lasts days with her. The Witmans to say they loved her one last time.
In his heart, he knew that  Norrell had gone along with his plan only to make him happy. "Selfish, selfish, selfish!!" Reuben said repeatedly while pounding his fist against his forehead. His mind was in such turmoil now that he wasn't sure of anything, except that he still missed his wife terribly. Time wasn't healing at least not in Reuben's case. It had been almost two years since her death. He missed her so much that he ached inside. No one understood the love they had shared. Reuben was at an all-time low. He concluded that if she were in purgatory, he wanted to be there with her. At least they would be in torment together. Reuben found a bottle of whiskey in the bottom drawer of his dresser, and downed half the bottle quickly becoming intoxicated. He lay on his bed, his mind restless. He pounded his fist into the pillow as though it were his enemy. But he grew weary and couldn't find solace from beating the pillow.
Reuben got up, wobbled to his closet, and took down a black box from the shelf. He reached into his pockets and took out his keys. Trying to find the right one turned out to be a task. "Damn it!" he shouted when the keys slipped through his trembling hands and clanged on the floor. "Can't I do anything right anymore?" Reuben hid his face in his hands as he tried to get a grip. Wearily he pushed back a lock of curly hair that had fallen from its place. Slowly he bent down to pick up the keys, but he tumbled down to the floor instead. Once down, he didn't want to get up, so he laid there for a minute or two before remembering that he had an agenda. Forcing himself up, he took the key and the black box and managed to find his way to the bed. Reuben flopped down on the bed took the key, and opened the box. Inside laid his 9mm, handgun. He inserted the clip and cocked it back.
Reuben just sat there for a moment, staring at the gun. Finally he turned the gun toward his face. His hands began to shake as he placed the gun inside his mouth. Tears streamed down his face.
The more he thought about it, the more he planned to end it all. With his hands trembling and his breathing growing increasingly rapid, he closed his eyes and put his finger on the trigger. With a hard grunt he pulled the trigger. . . CLICK!!!!. . . Sorry! You'll have to buy the book to find out what happened! Go to  www.amazon.com, order ADM, on Kindle or down load to your PC or Mac. Author Central

A Desperate Man is novel everyone should read. Both men and women! The plot of this story can happen to you. . . if we should be so lucky. It could happen to a loved one and you not even know it until it's too late. . . too late. The wife in the story is the protagonist, the husband is the antagonist. But then in the middle of the story the rolls switched. However, at the end of the story someone becomes a true hero/heroin. Even the men that have read this story truly liked and appreciated the plot. I had one guy tell me when he first picked up the book, he wasn't sure if he wanted to read it, but once he started reading he liked it. He said it was a new twist and original. But don't just take my word for it, go to www.bn.com search books, A Desperate Man and see the ratings and read the reviews. I am the author Gayle Price Thomas. If you look closely at the cover you might can figure out why and how this story was written. And my dad always told me that, if more than a few people are saying the same thing, and then it goes from more than a few to everybody... Then whatever it is that's being said is more likely to be true! ADM is now available on Kindle or can be down loaded on your MAC or PC at a great price. My worst fear was that readers maybe wouldn't understand why I wrote my first novel in the manner that I did. But when they read the story that part didn't even matter because they were so taken by this story. Please read ADM... You won't be sorry and I'd like to hear from you and your thoughts about the story! Thanks for reading my blog and have a great and bless day!!! Writing stories with you in mind!
